Hila Chefer

Black Forest Labs, incoming Assistant Professor at Tel Aviv University

Hila is a researcher on the Fundamental Research team at Black Forest Labs and an incoming Assistant Professor at Tel Aviv University (starting October 2026). She earned her PhD from Tel Aviv University, during which she was a visiting researcher at Google Research, Google DeepMind, and Meta AI, where she contributed to foundational video generation models. Her research focuses on understanding, interpreting, and controlling deep foundational models, with notable contributions including transformer explainability methods, Attend-and-Excite for diffusion guidance, Google's Lumiere video generation model, and Meta's VideoJAM training framework.
